I will control my temper today and not fantasize about holding people’s heads under water.

I will grow emotionally stronger each day and resist the urge to speak in my out loud voice when it is not appropriate.

I will smile more at my co-workers today and not laugh manically when they ponder my reason for smiling.

I will face my fears courageously today and then hide until they go away.

I will take on only what I can handle today and pass the rest off on other people.

I will manage my time better today and only surf the internet some of the time.

I am competent; I can make very cool chains out of paper clips.

I am energetic…with the aid of lots and lots of coffee.

I am enthusiastic when it’s something I find interesting.

I am caring, generous, and loving occasionally with the help of medication and/or beer.

It begins! Buahahaha August 6, 2007

The Hello Kitty Militia!

Bad Thai cops to endure Kitty shame

Thai police officers who break rules will be forced to wear hot pink armbands featuring “Hello Kitty,” the Japanese icon of cute, as a mark of shame, a senior officer said Monday.

Police officers caught littering, parking in a prohibited area, or arriving late — among other misdemeanors — will be forced to stay in the division office and wear the armband all day, said Police Col. Pongpat Chayaphan. The officers won’t wear the armband in public.

The striking armband features Hello Kitty sitting atop two hearts.

“Simple warnings no longer work. This new twist is expected to make them feel guilt and shame and prevent them from repeating the offense, no matter how minor,” said Pongpat, acting chief of the Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok.

“(Hello) Kitty is a cute icon for young girls. It’s not something macho police officers want covering their biceps,” Pongpat said.

He said police caught breaking the law will be subject the same fines and penalties as any other members of the public.

“We want to make sure that we do not condone small offenses,” Pongpat said, adding that the CSD believed that getting tough on petty misdemeanors would lead to fewer cases of more serious offenses including abuse of power and mistreatment of the public by police officers.

The Superficial is a website that makes fun of people, celebs mostly.

Recently they posted a picture of Jessica Alba where she looks rather retarded. The superficial says “Although you have to hand it to them for managing to take somebody as hot as Jessica Alba and making her look like a stroke victim. Is uncontrollable drooling supposed to be sexy?”

The picture they posted reminded me of Resident Evil for some reason, and because I am a Photoshop junkie, I made a zombie Alba. This is crappy quality, btw, I spent all of 10 minutes on it….but it needed to be done to please my inner dork.

Blood sacrifice, pirates, RPG, and Second Life March 30, 2007

Blood sacrifice – We have a little heater fan in our bedroom, it broke last month and stopped working. As it was cold last night I really wanted to use it so I picked it up to shake it *as per my hubby suggested, because ‘why not it was the only thing we have not tried yet’*. Something on the damn thing pricked my finger deep enough to draw blood, now it works. I have a heater that requires blood sacrifice in order to operate. I think that should creep me out but it doesn’t, it amuses me.

Pirates – I want to organize a protest for this kid! However I am a slacker and will probably not get around to it. Maybe someone else will do it.

RPG – Thanky Lola for getting me into the games I wanted for game day! Woot!

Second Life – I tried out Second Life, as the place I work bought some ‘land’ there. It annoyed me quite a bit. The lag was incredibly ridiculous and the graphics took FOREVER to load however I am sure my computer didn’t help that. The bugs and glitches didn’t seem to be that bad but they did occur quite a bit, at least there were pretty funny. I had tried it once before and it was annoying then too, but this time I was hoping to have a new toy in my arsenal of spiffy things to suggest for research applications. So far I see nothing about Second Life that would be beneficial. Maybe I am just not doing things right or seeing the right things.

Ever wonder what crazy people are thinking… September 28, 2006

While sitting on a stone wall on campus yesterday, I decided that instead of reading I would watch the people. Now I have always found that popular fashions are just weird, like this whole flip flop craze. I really find flip flops repulsive. But it seems now the flip flop thing has progressed into what I have dubbed the ‘Tom Sawyer’ look. People are rolling up their jeans to about mid-calf and wearing flip flops. I do not normally give a crap what people wear, but when people are trying to act pretentious while dressing like young Sawyer, I tend to find it amusing. Perhaps they even have name brand pants and flip flops, what would I know. “Buffy! I love those flip flops! Are they Versace?!”

One other interesting fashion I noticed yesterday. I noticed a trendy dressed fellow, with his FUBU gear or what ever name brand is in this year. There was one aspect to his dress that had me staring at him pretty intensely. This guy has what appeared to be pig tails, but wait they were made of cloth?! Upon further inspection I decided they guy was a nutter and had taken a pair of boxer briefs, tied a knot in each leg the put it under his hat, so that the knotted legs stuck out and looked like pig tails. I have since been convinced that maybe it was a handkerchief or some other cloth. I have yet to decide on a name for this particular fashion, maybe ‘Cotton Tails’.
